PinotNoir / Yarra Valley / Victoria
Winsome and engaging, a tawny salmon hued wine, crafted exclusively from estate grown Yarra Valley Pinot Noir, one of Australia's finest. The grapes are treated to skin contact in open fermenters, infusing the wine with colour and tannins in the traditional Tavel style. Yering Station then spends a brief spell ageing in larger seasoned oak barrels where it integrates and mellows. Slightly less acid than most other Rose, whilst the strong for its style oak character and complex Pinot Noir fruit, contribute to the mature, extra dry, adults only styling.

Chardonnay PinotNoir PinotMeunier / South Downs / England
The distinctive chalk cliffs of the Champagne region extend under the English Channel to resurface in Sussex as the South Downs. Viticulture has been a softly spoken industry here since Roman occupation, the propitious limestone escarpments and temperate seasons making a super clime for the production of exquisitely balanced sparklings. The sacred trinity of Champagne varietals, dominated by Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, a measure of Chardonnay for structure and finesse, its comely pink blush is matched by the ripe red tang of cranberries, morello and sweet Seville orange spice.

Mrs Wigley was a particular pussycat who was born at the neighbouring Petrucci residence. Within days her mum had dragged the litter to settle in the Wirra Wirra open fermenters, from then on Mrs Wigley became a permanent feature of the Wirra Wirra cellars. Mrs Wigley, the Rosé, is made by running the juices off, tinted after brief contact on skins, from the grapes, then cold fermenting and bottling early, as you would prefer to do when designing a refreshing, revitalizing pink wine.

Watermelon hued, redolent with juicy fruit, piquant of spice, slightly tangy with revitalizing citrus acid, evocative of aeroplane jelly and iced tea. As exquisitely balanced as it is complex, Shades make a Rosé that stands apart from the rest, cannily fashioned to a mouthfilling Tavel styling, brief contact on skins makes the colour and infuses the palate with a lick of lip pursing tannin. A luscious pink wine, flavoursome enough to stand on it's own and sophisticated enough for pairing off with fine gourmandise.

CabernetSauv Merlot / Hunter Valley / NewSouthWales
Tyrrell's Old Winery range is named after the historic wineworks at Hunter Valley, built in 1858. Rose as a wine style has had many incarnations over the last century, from light, dry and savoury to rich, fruity and sweet. Old Winery is vinified to an old Rose technique that Tyrrell's employed in the 1960s, incorporating traditional skin contact methods from parcels of Hunter Valley fruit. The flavours develop early in the process at lower sugar and stronger acid levels. The aim is to achieve a balanced pink wine, fashioned for the everyday Australian lifestyle.

A long cool ferment preserves the complex fruit characters and infuses enticing herbal notes into the crisp mineral palate. Tache is a French word meaning stained, the rare method used by Taltarni to fashion their sparkling Rose. The moniker Brut Tache can also be read as a metaphor for hard yakka, a reference to the effort required to grow quality grapes and make good wine. Taltarni assemble their finest fruit, picked off vineyards dedicated to yielding grapes exclusively for superior sparkling wines. Cuvée Rosé's pretty pink hue and elegant complexity are achieved by adding a dash of red liqueur to the tirage wine at disgorgement.

A delightful duo by those scrumptious ladies who make Domaine Chandon and Scotchmans Hill. Two delicious drops that are just gorgeous together, our two most popular luncheon companions, not just colourful and delish, Chandon and Swan Bay are a first pick amongst the stylish and savvy. A decidedly devilish Pinot Rosé from the balmy maritime climes of the Bellarine, coupled with the moreishly fruit filled Chardonnay of Yarra Valley's Chandon. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, two great wines that are made for partnering alongside our favourite food and finest friends.
