Montage are fashionable wines, blended for contemporary palates, in fully approachable modern styling, crafted at the De Bortoli wineworks in Bilbul on the Riverina. The label depicts a montage of architectural elements that reflect the De Bortoli family's heritage. A bright and refreshing union of Chardonnay with Semillon, exhibiting intense fruit and concentrated flavours, designed for good food.

As the name suggests, Montage is an assemblage of varietals, brought together to produce flavoursome fruit driven wines which accompany good food, perfectly. Montage impresses as the perfect partner to fine faire.

Awarded 3 GOLD MEDALS and made exclusively from Cabernet Sauvignon, picked extremely ripe to maintain the full sweetness of the style, and sourced primarily from McWilliam's own vineyards in the Riverina wine region in New South Wales. Partially fermented on skins for eleven days to extract maximum colour and flavour, a high quality grape spirit distilled at the McWilliam's Hanwood winery, near Griffith was added to the ferment in stages to assist with the integration of flavour. Receiving no oak treatment, this is a maverick fortified, brimming with riddles and complexities.

Muscadelle are luscious and fruity in their delinquent youth, fortified with Brandy however and aged for a quarter century in old French oak casks, they evolve into a jewel of a wine that's worthy of the most wanton indulgence. Only the finest parcels can be earmarked for inclusion into the timeless Topaque Show Reserve style, only the best stocks will survive the final cull. Intensified in flavour over the course of decades, as barrels are topped up annually to atone for the angels share, the final word in complex, toothsome elixirs and opaque palate richness.

Australian Tawny is renowned throughout the world of wine for its engaging richness and remarkable complexity. Assembled from the last remaining barrels of old fortified Grenache, Touriga and Shiraz, McWilliams Show Reserve represents an indulgence in slow aged rancio flavours, raisins, dark chocolate and evocatively perfumed festive cakes. Twenty five years maturation means that the angels are constantly taking their share, as the extravagantly aged barrels are topped up every year by even more stocks of the most luscious Tawny wine.

McWilliams's are one of the most recognizable names in the pantheon of enduring Australian brands, a significant part of their bequest is a priceless endowment of the oldest, most invaluable stocks of fortified wine in the land. The estate's history with fortifieds dates back to 1913, when John James McWilliam planted the first ever vines at Hanwood on the Riverina. Generations of viticulture and patient cellaring have established a legacy of the world's finest Old Muscats, assembled into a Show Reserve of immense concentration and exquisite balance.

The development of the Riverina as a major winegrowing region was primarily due to the foresight of the McWilliam family. The estate's founder was greatly impressed by the soil profiles and access to irrigation. The McWilliams estate vineyards along the Riverina can be traced back to the region's earliest settlement, but the skill at vinification is cutting edge. An immensely satisfying effort, this fine aged Oloroso is a blend of luscious fortified wines across several vintages at an average five years of age. The fortification takes place gradually, by the addition of no more than two per cent of a high quality neutral spirit at any one time, permitting winemakers to arrest vinification at precisely the desired level of sweetness. A delight to sip at any time of day, elegant and long, just a touch spicy, the dance of fruit flavours and Flor notes make Hanwood the perfect chilled aperitif or accompaniement to rich foods.

Crafted in the old world way, according to the traditional flor solera system. Wines are secondarily fermented under unique Flor caps, yeasts which grow on top of the Apera, releasing aldehydes and infusing the Sherry with lifted, nutty characters. Clean and mellow, gracefully dry and pleasingly rancio, exquisite with a warm alcohol length of aromatic malt flavours and integrated aged oak. Superb as a chilled aperitif, the Amontillado Apera style is served on classical menus alongside aspic, game birds and the finest double consomme.

McWilliam's can trump the market when it comes to offering quality Ports which are complex and mature, a deeply satisfying experience in Fine Old Tawny. Crafted from parcels of Mataro, Grenache and Shiraz, blended to an average age of five years. Harvest is generally later in the season, off choice vineyards in sunny Riverina, the added term on vine serving to fully ripen grapes and encourage luscious fruit sweetness. A lighter, fresher style of Tawny than McWilliam's Hanwood Ten Year Old, offering exquisite richness and complexity without overt oak.

A patiently matured, multi vineyard Muscat, vinified from Red Frontignac grapes and blended to an average age of five years. The fruit, picked extremely ripe to maintain the sweetness of the style, is sourced entirely from McWilliam's vineyards in the Riverina wine region of New South Wales. The warm and dry conditions are ideal for Fortifieds, enabling grapes to ripen superbly and to achieve great richness of flavour. Fermentation is arrested at the desired sweetness by the gradual addition of a high quality neutral Spirit, also made at the Hanwood wineworks.

Taking pride of place in the pantheon of great Australian fortifieds, Hanwood is an exceptionally smooth and mellow, rich Tawny Port. An assembly of luscious wines which have been ageing in small oak cask for up to sixty years. Great care is taken at the blending stage to achieve an average age of ten years as opposed to five, which is the practice for most other Ports. The extra time spent in oak, combined with the traditional techniques perfected by McWilliam's since 1877, are what makes Hanwood such a very special Fine Old Port.

Peter Robertson was a Lancaster gunner during World War II. Over the course of thirty missions, he was introduced to wine by his pilot, John Seppelt of Great Western. Robertson turned to farming after the war and planted the Hilltops first vines in 1969. Robertson's Barwang property has since produced some of the most memorable vintages. Parcels from two elite blocks are vinified into a richly concentrated, classically structured Cabernet Sauvignon, showing great length of black fruit flavours, olives, currants and eucalypt, over a structure of elegant oak and sound tannins, a wine of opulence and grace.

McWilliams have long been sourcing fruit from Tumbarumba for some of their most memorable vintages. It has taken many years of devoted viticulture and dedication to the land before arriving at 842 Chardonnay. This prolific award winner is the flagship white from Tumbarumba's highest plantings, crafted from fruit grown at an altitude of 842 metres. The driving inspiration for the team is to create a truly cool climate, elegant style of Chardonnay which offers engaging complexity while remaining true to the expression of Tumbarumba's lofty terroir.

In commemoration of the year Samual McWilliams planted his first vines, 1877 is a national flagship, crafted from the best fruit of vintage. The choicest parcels of estate grown Shiraz are sourced from superior mature vines on the original McWilliams plantings at Barwang among the Hilltops. Since inaugural release, 1877 has accumulated a breathtaking list of wine show trophy wins and countless gold medals. A wine of immense power and drive, its refined line of tannin holding it all together in an act of balance and precision.

Rich and flavoursome red wines continue to be an Australian favourite, McGuigan excel at delivering, year in and year out. The first thing you notice about Black Label are the lovely berry and spice aromas, followed by a generous palate of ripe red/ black fruit characters and tender tannins. Black Label is nicely balanced with splendid concentration and persistence of flavour.

The Hunter Valley is Australia's oldest wine growing region, its slubrious alluvial flats produce richly full flavoured wines. McGuigan's hand picked team of consummate wine makers are continuously searching for the best grapes whilst marrying the best of modern techniques with generations of wine making tradition. Mayfield Vineyard is one of the highest and coolest vineyards in Australia, endowed with an extended, gradual ripening period. The hundred hectare estate surrounds the historic homestead on the Icely Road leading to where gold was first discovered in Australia. Its unique aspects, low vigour soils and a modest yield regime is highly conducive to the production of elegant and refined wines. The cool climes encourage the grapes to ripen without heat stress. Icely Road is a fully approachable Chardonnay tailored for sophisticated palates.

There's never very much of it around but Hunter Valley Shiraz commands respect, as much for its personable regionality as its esoteric, epicurean appeal. Dr Lindeman planted his first Shiraz in 1843, labelling it Cawarra Claret for export to Europe and the Empire, where it claimed honours at the prestigious competitions of London and Paris. The legacy of some great old vineyards endures, crafted to the timeless Hunter Valley style, elegant with savoury fruit over a structure of lithe tannins, cosseted by a veneer of refined and polished oak.

Hunter Valley Semillon has established its own unique genre in the world of wine, praised universally for its remarkable complexity, individuality and defined regional charm. Lindeman's were at the very provenance of the style and can now draw fruit from some of the most precious and mature Semillon vines in Hunter Valley. A brisk fermentation and a fortnight of rest on gross sedimentery lees, builds structure and infuses richness, into a wine of lovely textures and exquisite balance, the essence of Hunter Valley Semillon.

Hunter Valley Chardonnay at its best, Lindeman were at the very genesis of Hunter Valley viticulture and have husbanded the finest vineyards for generations. Lindeman's can also be thanked for introducing Australian Chardonnay to the world. Well defined with textural lemon curd, peaches and regional lime complexity, time spent in a selection of seasoned French oak barrels and an extravagant course of lees stirring battonage, has infused the palate and brought luxurious mid palate richness.

Hunter Valley Semillon is Australia's most profound contribution to the pantheon of conspicuous international white wine styles. From the earliest days of viticulture, farmhands would prune vines each winter to ensure a good crop of grapes the following season. They discovered that meats grilled over the discarded canes acquired a unique, slightly sweet smoky flavour. All across Europe, the burning of vine canes became a midwinter festival. The team at Hungerford Hill have revived this ancient tradition, a celebration of the synergy between barbeques and good wine, Vinefire makes the perfect match to grilled meats and seafood, seared vegetables or fried rice.

Helm are the descendants of Rhineland growers who established vineyards at Albury and Rutherglen in the 1860s. A supreme parcel of fruit from Juliette Cullen’s vineyard, established 2005 at Riesling friendly altitudes of 620 metres on the western foothills of Snowy Mountains. Grapes are all hand picked and driven back to the Helm wineworks at Murrumbateman in the early hours of morning for a brisk vinification. An engagingly outspoken style of Riesling, lime and pear perfumed nose, vivid tropical fruits throughout, a tangy, eye watering citrus finish.

A single vineyard, strongly terroir wine by maestro Ken Helm AM, from fruit picked off neighbour Al Lustenberger's property, only released under the premium black label if it reaches the highest quality benchmarks. Since 2005 the collaboration of Lustenberger and Helm has claimed more than fourteen trophies. Ken Helm knows from great Riesling wines, he remains custodian of a heritage that's been handed down for generations, brought to the new world in the 1860s, by German growers who emigrated from the Rhineland to establish vineyards in Australia.

Cabernet Sauvignon has always been a speciality of Helm. A trip to Bordeaux inspired winemaker Ken Helm and grower Al Lustenburger to perfect the most profound constructs of Cabernet Sauvignon. The Canberra district is perfectly suited to growing this noble grape, as the mesoclimes, so similar to those of Bordeaux, are influenced by trade winds during summer which carry a whiff of sea salt and stimulate the vines. Helm's inaugural vintage immediately attracted praise from the industry press and claimed significant wine show awards.

Ken Helm was a founder of the International Riesling Challenge and was awarded the coveted Wolf Blass Award for his endeavours with Australian Riesling. The Halbtrocken style of Riesling, an astutely defined balance between the savouryness of cold climate Canberra, juicy apple orchard acidity and ripe grape tannin sweetness. Fragrantly aromatic with notes of honeyed peaches, florals and apricot, its silky smooth palate of sweet jonagold apples, packham pear, lime cordials and citrus zing, finishes long and clean, refreshingly dry.

From the nation's most consequential viticultural precinct, a beautifully balanced wine of moderate acid and low pH, perfect sugar levels and loads of beautiful fresh flavours. Matured two years in a luxuriously high proportion of new French oak, a bed of firm ripe tannins underpin a compelling construct of our nation's, most capital Cabernet.

A gentle, traditional, minimalist approach to vinification encourages the quality of fruit to speak for itself.
