Since the acquisition of Chateau Leonay in 1945, Leo Buring has built an unparalleled reputation for the highest quality Clare and Eden Valley Riesling. Following each growing season, the harvest which can best exhibit the ideal balance of strong regional varietal fruit character and flattering flavour profile are selected for inclusion into the stately Leonay. Of all the grape varietals Riesling is the one that is most expressive of regionality. Minute changes in soil, climate and aspect are directly reflected in theavours found in the final wine. The team at Leo Buring work closely with their viticulturists to identify the best vineyards, the choicest blocks and the best rows within each. Lime bouquets, florals and orange blossom, on the palate comes a rich round wine with flavours of sweet citrus and apple, lemon oils and honey, melons and musk. Appealingly dry yet vigorously fruit driven, it lingers at the close on a note of floral citrus and crisp mineral.

Lenton Brae can justifiably claim to be one of Margaret River's leading proponents of the ebullient fusion between Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, having claimed multi trophies and gold medals for the style at regional, state and national competitions. The site was chosen after a chance conversation with the owner of Moss Wood who mentioned that the soils were uniformly excellent and equal to those of the eminent vineyard nearby. The premiere vitcultural precincts of Margaret River are endowed by oceans on three sides, conditions that are perfect for the production of truly world class white wines. The vineyards of Leeuwin Estate were established from the ground up with a view to extracting fully the virtues of these splendid mesoclimes. Siblings is an entry level wine, intended for fresh and early drinking, it is nevertheless a highly polished example of the classic and dry Margaret River style of white. The Semillon component is cannily fermented in older oak barrels for complexity.

Leeuwin are particularly adept at vinifying world class Chardonnay, the estate's flagship is Langtons Classified, a member of the most elite rank in Australian wine. Leeuwin Estate was purposely built from the ground up to a no expenses spared approach by America's most accomplished vineyard developer. Originally a cattle farm, the property was deeply ploughed, deep ripped, emptied of stone, pegged, measured and planted to vines by hand in the 1970s. It remains to this day under the stewardship of America's Mondavi family. Prelude Vineyard is an elite site, closely managed to yield the quality of fruit, requisite for the vinification of the definitive Margaret River classic dry white.

Exceptional Langtons Classification. Great wines are born in great vineyards. At Leeuwin the viticulturist and winemaker work hand in hand throughout the winemaking process. Variations and deficiencies in the individual blocks have not been completely corrected so that the wine reflects the soil. Block 20 forms the backbone of Art Series. The young wine begins with true varietal power of great delicacy which requires up to twelve months lees contact in new French oak to draw out the complexity, losing none of that essential balance in the process.

Art Series is a finely balanced Chardonnay, the result of very low yielding vines matched by subtle vinification techniques to preserve the natural palate richness. A regimen of new French oak complements the fruit, providing a wonderful balance of warm toasty flavours. Art Series shows remarkable restraint and lovely youthful freshness, a well focused palate with lingering finish of citrus blossoms, the palate develops a great weight of fruit and fine length of flavour that persists in the mouth minutes after drinking.

Leasingham have been an integral part of Clare Valley viticulture for over a hundred years, a tradition that's been evolving since 1893. Rich soils and cool, moist conditions were perfect foundations for what is today Australia's premier Riesling appellation. Despite advice to the contrary, Leasingham planted Riesling extensively in the early 1940s. This vision led to Leasingham establishing a reputation for the finest Rieslings. Indigenous to the temperate vales of Austria and the Danube, ever so popular around the cosmopolitan bars of Vienna, refreshingly crisp with zests of tropical fruit, its clean, revitalizing palate lingers with racy varietal notes of piquant white pepper and fragrant lime.

From fruit grown to the Kelly Family property at Valley Clare, a mesoclime that's not dissimilar to the old world origins of the Fiano varietal in Sicilia and Campania. A robust, animated wine, alive with aromas of fresh picked guava, red apples and pear, venturing into pine, lime and citrus nuts, the complexity and palate weight are seasoned by gentle herbs and honeyed cashew, a rewarding textural finish. The fruitiness and exquisite palate length of our eccentric merits accompaniement to the finest white meat recipes and cosmopolitan Al fresco fare.

Leabrook is made to be marvellously eloquent with all the intense perfumery, crisp flavours and revitalizing acidity, which have so endeared adherents of the Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc style. All the work in constructing such a wine happens in the vineyard, the challenge for the winemaker is to preserve the character and allow the charming fuit to speak for itself. A minimal handling of the precious grapes and long cool ferments, serve to retain all the lovely expressions which lie just below the skin.

Fruit from an array of Marlborough vineyards representing a broad cross section of soil types and microclimes, contribute a diverse range of aromas, flavours and textures to Lawson's Dry Hills. The time of picking is crucial to Sauvignon Blanc and the closer a winemaker scrutinizes his fruit, the more optimal will be the decision to harvest. Each site is harvested at optimal ripeness and some are picked in several passes. Rich oak ferments contribute subtle mealy characters and added palate weight.

A Riesling of refined character and exquisite charm, superb, stylish integration and clearly discernible regional varietal eloquence, sourced from the best blocks on the Lawson's Dry Hills Waihopai Valley vineyard. Moderate crop yields and cool ripening mean that the Riesling grapes are first class, harvested only as they develop a concentration of natural fruit sugars and reach optimal flavour development. Sourced from low yielding sites which are managed to yield an exceptional quality of Pinot Gris. The limited release Latitude 41 is fashioned from a collation of Nelson River and Marlborough Valley fruit. By combining the best from both districts, the Spencer Hill team have assembled a South Island Sauvignon Blanc of exquisite charm and generous palate weight. A crisp, mouthfilling wine brimming with luscious south sea fruit characters, citrus and vanilla.

Marlborough based Spencer Hill have lead the new wave of New Zealand Chardonnay, claiming multi trophys at the International Chardonnay Challenge, Liquorland Top 1OO, London International and Air NZ Wine Awards. Latitude 41 is assembled from parcels grown to good vineyards in Marlborough and along Nelson River, a full bodied Chardonnay with layers of fruit and bold expression of terroir that speaks of it's origin. A course of ferments in highly vanilla spiced French oak and course of lees exposure, builds structure and adds superb mouthfeel.

The racy mesoclimes of Eden Valley yield the nation's most elegant Riesling, redolent with majestic perfumes and defined by their remarkably clean, fruit filled palates. The Riesling of old vines go one further, achieving a measure of excellence which is as close to perfection as can be found in the world of wine. Named for the surrounding copses of native gum, Wattle Brae was identified in 1969 as a site uncannily similar to the delicate Riesling's native home along the precipitous slopes of the Mosel and River Rhine.

The clean and racy style of West Australian Sauvignon Blanc, from fruit harvested off a boutique, hand managed vineyard at Margaret River, crafted by a five Halliday star winery. Arriving fully labelled, offering great length of flavour and depth of palate, this stellar value in Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc has received a breathtaking wine show judge's score of 96 points, Gold Medal and hotly contested Sauvignon Blanc Trophy at the Royal Melbourne, Sydney Royal Silver Medal and Gold Royal Perth Wine Show.

Cotes du Luberon are at the very southeast of Valley Rhone, immediately south of Cotes de Ventoux, where a number of local communes make wine in the same way as their ancient forebears. An eclectic cepage of Bourboulenc and Grenache Blanc, Vermentino and Ugni Blanc. Grapes are lightly crushed and pressed for a long cool fermentation in traditional open vats, a tenth is vinified in the luxury of new French oak barrels while being treated to a course of lees stirring battonage. Components are fined and assembled in the January after harvest.

Act Three of the exciting new opus from De Bortoli, a mostly Pinot Gris wine, predominantly from Wombat Creek Vineyard at Gladysdale in the Upper Yarra, vinified alongside a judicious measure of complimenting white varietals, to form a whole that's so much greater than the sum of parts. Judicious inclusions of Gewurztraminer, Riesling and Pinot Blanc, for a measure of interest. Internationally lauded and perennially feted as one of North Island's leading marques, the inception of Kumeu River was at the very genesis of New Zealand's fledgling wine industry. Kumeu River are one of the North Island's most artisanal, premiere winemaking estates, with a reputation for the finest Chardonnay. Village offers real purity and finesse, supple, refreshing and beautifully concentrated. Vinified purely from the free run juices of the first press, achieving a particularly supple wine with very fine textures, simply delicious to drink.

Kumeu River winery was established during the war years by European migrants and has developed a repute for producing delicious wines in Burgundian styling. Winemaker Michael Brajkovich Master of Wine, is most famous for his internationally renowned Chardys, he has endeavoured to produce a distinct and refined Sauvignon Blanc that also displays stylistic charm. The resulting wine is just that. The aroma is a pungent and zingy expression of fruit, with a palate of concentrated flavours, a rich texture and balanced acidity.

Kumeu River was a pioneer of the New Zealand winemaking industry, established in 1944 when the Brajkovich family settled at Kumeu just outside of Auckland. The estate makes some of New Zealand's finest Chardonnay and is equally adept at some of the more esoteric varietals. All their offerings have shown well at competitions and they excel at Pinot Gris. The estate's Auckland vineyards enjoy beautiful ripening conditions, encouraging the fruit to achieve a level of rich concentration and luscious textures, a very layered and complex Pinot Gris wine.
