A redolent Shiraz wine with an abundance of soft tannins that's drinking beautifully. The major component is from the estate's McLaren Flat vineyards. The second instalment is sourced from good sites at Blewitt Springs and Seaview, with a smaller portion of early ripening, low yield fruit originating from a vineyard in the Sellicks sub region which is very close to the sea. They all combine beautifully to form a wine which offers rich aromas of spicy mulberry conserve followed by a smooth mix of black and red berry fruits on the middle and back palate.

Kangarilla is a main road in McLaren Vale which leads to a small village of the same name. The vineyards, located at the northern part of the foothills, ripen later than other parts resulting in cooler climate, aromatically spiced, dark berry driven wines with intense palate presence and soft velvety tannins. Kangarilla is vinified in a mix of traditional open fermenters, followed by an extended term in the pick of French and American oak barrels. Beautifully integrated fruit and smooth tannins, lingering finish of liquorice, chocolates and dark espresso coffee.

Long standing members of the elite Grange Growers Club, Kalleske are one of Barossa's leading Shiraz growers, providing fruit from the most memorable vintages to Penfold for decades. Kalleske know the Barossa and its best growers very well, assembling fruit from the eminent Belvedere and Greenock, Stonewell and Moppa, Seppeltsfield, Koonunga and Ebenezer appellations at the northwest end of the Valley. The Kalleske family have been making Grenache wine for well over a century. Their marque is one of the Valley's most distinguished labels and they work with the most dedicated Barossa growers, many of whom have been husbanding their family vineyards for generations. Grapes are crushed into traditional open top fermenters for vinification, followed by a course of age in a mix of French, European and American oak. Full bodied and mouthfilling, a remarkably layered complexity, gorgeous rich sweet red fruit characters and soft supple tannins, a generous, supple mouthfeel.

Old Vine Grenache grown to a single site, planted in 1935 as bush vines on the Kalleske farm. The vineyard is low yielding with grapes grown organically and biodynamically. These precious gnarled and dry grown old Grenache vines translate into the most spectacular Barossa wine.

A true hand made wine, crafted in the old world style, fashioned from old bush vines fruit, picked off a single site established 1935, the oldest Grenache plantings on the Kalleske farm. The Moppa district was a flourishing settlement of pioneering farmers and gold miners. When the Kalleske vineyard was established in 1853, there were few schools in the region, so local parents established the Moppa Public School to provide their children with a formal education. Located right on the Kalleske property, generations attended this school until its closure in 1935. Sourced entirely off the Kalleske Certified Organic Moppa Vineyard, a trace of Viognier and Petit Verdot are added to Shiraz, achieving a stylish and contemporary edge.

Single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, personally hand pruned and harvested by Kym Kalleske, miller of hay and merchant of chaff, grazier of lamb and grower of the Barossa's most prestigious grapes. A tribute to Johann Georg, the first Kalleske to migrate to Australia. Johann Georg was born in Brätz, Prussia in 1794 and emigrated aboard the Prince George to South Australia with his wife and children in 1838. The Kalleske family have been farming and growing grapes in the Barossa ever since. Kalleske Georg is a genuine, 100% Certified by Australian Organic, estate grown and vinified wine, vintaged and matured on the Kalleske wineworks at Greenock, a single vineyard Shiraz produced from the oldest vineyard on the farm.

Greenock Shiraz is a single vineyard wine, sourced off an elite, low yielding block, managed by the sixth and seventh generations of the Kalleske family. The original Greenock plantings were sourced as cuttings off an ancient estate parcel established in the late 1800s. A deluxe edition of Barossa Shiraz, built around a solid backbone of fruit, for a powerful wine of remarkable intensity, perfumed dark roses and licorice, cocoa and tobacco leaf, all lingering on a length of ripe and juicy, super fine tannins.

The Kalleske family have been growing grapes and making Barossa Valley wine since 1853. One of the more distinguished members of the prestigious Grange Growers Club, the Kalleskes have also become one of Barossa Valley's most compelling and contemplative new labels. Greenock Shiraz is 100% biodynamic, as accredited by Australian Certified Organic, sourced from a single low yielding block, established to ancient cuttings, along the western edge of Greenock Creek in the northwest Barossa Valley.

There are three unique, dry grown, low yielding blocks on the Kalleske property which were planted between 1905 and 1960, they yield an intense, powerfully full bodied wine. Fruit is open fermented and pressed into an extravagant selection of French and American oak hogsheads for two years maturation, unfiltered and unfined. Inky black flavours over harmonized tannins, subtle oak complexity in support of sturdy structure and stupendous length. Eduard is laden with layers of juicy winegum richness, beguilingly dark, so highly articulate of old vine Barossa Shiraz opulence.

An assemblage of old vines Grenache and Shiraz with a smaller portion of Mataro, grown to the Kalleske's organic farm. Named after Troy Kalleske's ninety year old grandfather Clarence, who farmed the vineyards from the late 1920s until his retirement in the 1990s. Clarry was the fourth generation to tend vines on the family farm, established by his great grandparents who migrated from Prussia aboard the Prince George in 1838. Many years were spent by Clarry pruning, hand picking and nurturing the Kalleske vineyards.

Kaesler own and operate thirty seven acres of prime Barossa viticulture, the majority of it is old vine material, planted 1893, 1899, 1930 and the 1960s. Weapons of Mass Seduction is best suited to those who prefer the big, savoury styles. A powerful dry red, the essential Australian fusion of Shiraz and Cabernet, WOMS is a rich and complex Barossa wine that's tightly woven within a tapestry of well defined oak. WOMS is only ever produced in years of exceptional quality, it can also be relied upon to age very, very well.

Stonehorse is an assemblage of several different sites, some planted as far back as 1961, all are closely managed to yield harvests of the most characterful Barossa Shiraz. Choice parcels are vinified to a style which emphasizes the old world, bucolic virtue of the grapes, as enhanced and complimented by an extended term of barrel age. The oak is designed to support and add structure without compromising early approachability of the wine, a forward drinking Kaesler, to be enjoyed in its youth.

The Kaesler family arrived in South Australia as Silesian pioneers, migrating to Barossa Valley in the 1840s. Some of the original gnarled, dry grown Shiraz vines still remain and provide the backbone for the intense wines produced from the sandy loam soils of the estate's prime viticultural block. Old Vine Shiraz is an assembly of four parcels of old Shiraz vines grown to Kaesler vineyards. A Shiraz that will never be overtly fruity, it is best suited to those who prefer a solid, chewy wine with a savoury style and good solid structure.

A single vineyard Shiraz from fruit grown to the estate's 1893 block, hand pruned and hand picked, yielding less than two tonne per acre. When Kaesler first purchased the property, it was in a derelict state and certain to die if measures to revive the site were not expedited. Many years of over cropping and neglect had taken its toll. A previous regime of irrigation with increasingly salty bore water was slowly poisoning the soil. A thousand kilos of Old Bastard's fruit gives about 680 litres of wine or about 900 bottles, single vineyard expression at its most extreme.

The first Kaesler Vineyards were established circa 1893, the Bogan Block at Marananga was planted in 1899. Kaesler are the grateful custodians of these marvelous old vines, which have seen the federation of a nation, two world wars and several generations of blood sweat and tears. The amazing quality of fruit from Bogan are combined with parcels from Kaesler's 1965 Nuriootpa block, planted to the same clonal material as the precious Old Bastard vineyard, crafted to form a synergy between the finest Barossa Shiraz and quality new oak.

Juniper Estate was established 1973 within a picturesque setting near Wilyabrup Creek along Harmans Road. The fully mature vines are grown to auspiciously gravel loam soils which have been essential to the production of Margaret River's stellar Cabernet wines. The propitious terroir and balmy maritime climes are heaven sent for the signet Bordeaux varietals. Juniper's viticultural team assemble parcels of Cabernet and Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot, to fashion an elegantly aromatic and soundly structured wine, in engaging, new world Medoc styling.

Juniper of Wilyabrup are one of the oldest vineyards at the heart of Margaret River. The propitious site was surveyed and defined after a subdivision by one of the nation's most prolific artist families, Ben, Andrew and Robert Juniper. They now produce some of the region's most stately Shiraz wines, Crossing are an entry level, fashioned to a fully approachable easy drinking style, whilst displaying all the sophistication of the estate's opulent icon efforts. The Crossings sound structure and solid weight of fruit make the ideal accompaniement to rich, braised meat recipes.

The salubrious vines at Wilyabrup can rely on plenty of sunshine for well balanced canopies, a thorough ripening and full tannin development with every vintage. A mostly Cabernet Sauvignon wine, a substantial component of Merlot with inclusions of Malbec and Cabernet Franc, fashioned to a brightly lit, fruit driven style with sound structure and moderate oak influence. Merlot provides a fleshy mid palate while the Cabernet delivers depth, integrity and length. A bliss alongside succulent, melt in the mouth braises and oven roast root vegetables.

Tasmania's cool climate viticulture provides many challenges, it further inspires the Josef Chromy vineyard team who are already driven by a consuming desire to make Pinot Noir that's articulate of is provenance. Defined by its profound varietal intensity, ripe cherries abound on the palate and nose, wild berries and dark chocolate, exciting smoky earthy characters over a seamless structure of silky tannins and supple French oak, the savouryness of barnyard and forest floor adding depth and complexity to the lingering spicy finish.

Josef Chromy was a Tasmanian meats entrepreneur with a taste for cool climate Sparkling. He successfully developed Heemskerk and Jansz and established the Tamar Ridge label. Divesting himself of the portfolio, he settled down to the most opportune site he could find. A closely inspected collation of Pinot Noir, hand picked off superior blocks of vine planted to the most splendid Launceston terroirs. Its volume of complex red berries and subtle fragrant spice pour over a palate that's finely structured and silky before a long aromatic finish.
