  Bottle Dozen
The name of Armagh was bestowed by the orginal Irish settlers who arrived in 1849, naming the lush rolling hill after their homeland. The vineyard was planted by Jim Barry in 1968 and yields less than two tonnes per acre. The soil is sandy-gravel and receives an average rainfall of twenty four inches per year. The vineyard lies on a north-west facing slope which acts as a natural sun trap, ensuring the fruit is always fully ripened when picked. A thumping vintage for the Clare Valley, and exceptional for the Armagh, a long and relaxed harvest, which allowed the fruit slow even ripening to amazing levels of concentration, and to be selectively picked. Eighteen months maturation in 100% new French oak. Approx 15.5%
A monumental red from a massively successful vintage which continues to woo Shiraz lovers internationally.
Rich and savoury aromas of blackberry, licorice, mint and toasty oak. The palate is concentrated and shows rich extract, with ripe black cherry, licorice and mint, well integrated sweet oak and velvety tannins. Decanting is necessary as the wine is unfiltered and a deposit will appear with age, Jim Barry suggests that the wine is allowed to breathe a minimum of two hours.
A monumental red from a massively successful vintage which continues to woo Shiraz lovers internationally.
